It depends on how you class a band as real. I guess if they ever performed music together then they are a band. So by my definition they were a real band. Even if they only performed once as a band and then only in a film they still would have been a band if they actually did play the music.

it was a spoof film whos actors later went on to preform for charity gigs and guest appearances (simpsons). christs sake ed begley jnr plays the bands original drummer in the film.

define real. The movie was good, the soundtrack was entertaining , though good would not be the word I'd choose to describe it.Those were real enough. They are at least as real as Milly Vanilly was.
