I know it is an HONORABLE form of insincerity, but it's still insincerity. What do you think? Why or why not?

Politeness is a form of respect for others. It is common decency. Doing the right thing, simply because it is the right thing to do.

Politeness has more to say about you as a person than it does about the person you are being polite to. It shows that you value people, because they deserve to be valued, simply because they exist. We all have the same basic needs, and one of those is to be respected.

The sincerity behind a person's politeness is determined by he character of the person and by his or her motives for being polite.
Only God knows our hearts in these things.

I don't agree ... being polite is NOT being insincere. Being polite just makes sense. It's only truly insincere if you FEEL that it is.

No, only if you are insincerely polite. Otherwise it is more of a nicety than anything else.

it's only insincere when you are sucking up.being truly polite includes the desire to make one happy or wanting to help someone in need or it can simply be a random act of kindness.

Politeness is a social grace that some people need to leaarn. Who cares if it's 100% honest, at least the person made the effort to show respect.
