After all, there are plenty of liberals who are both religious AND moral. However, we just don't like it when some people try to impose their own version of religion and morality onto others, especially if it involves passing or supporting legislation that favors one religion over another. Morality is subjective, and it doesn't necessarily have to coexist with religion. Each person has his own conscience, and what may sit right with one person's conscience may not with another's. Let's have some respect for individual differences!

I can't speak for all other liberals, but I know that I don't hate religion or morality. I'm a very spiritual person and I try to do the right thing, but I know I'm certainly not perfect!

because they don't understand that there is a difference between supporting freedoms and rights... and supporting ideas...
it's like the old "I would fight for the KKKs right to free speech, even though I very much dislike what they have to say"...
applying conservative thought to that last example, they would think that anyone who fights for the KKKs right to free speech is a supporter of the KKK and it's ideas...
they demonstrate this "logic" in almost everything they label "liberal"... which most of the time, it's just supporting someones rights or freedoms to do something and not the action in question...
they think if someone stands up for someones rights to not hear a teacher-led Christian class prayer... that the person is against Christian prayer... which the majority of the time... nothing can be farther from the truth...

Why do liberals assume that all conservatives are religious and have the same morals. For example, my mom is a hard core dem., my dad is an independent, and i'm a republican. I am also an athiest. I am like one of those "Jackass" guys, so I have a wierd set of morals I guess, but I'm more educated on politics than any of my peers or my parents.

Why might I ever assume that Liberals & Marxists are not for worldwide Domination? Liberals are anti freedom. they do in comparison to loose markets. they do in comparison to freedom of religion. they do no longer even like the liberty to burn fossil gasoline. All that administration takes enormous government. So how could desire to any self respecting Liberal no longer have a great enormous boehner for Globalization.

Conservatives are hypocrites and liars. They know better but would lie through their teeth to convince the ignorant that something is wrong with Democrats or liberals.
Notice it's only since the Liar of sll Liars got into the white house and sanctioned deceitfulness that Conservative started broadcasting lies about libs etc.
I don't know how they can look themselves in the mirror knowing that they're the most corrupt hyprocrites to ever walk this earth

for the most part I'm conservative but I'm atheist... the aspect that i think most liberals lack morals is on abortion... but i think that of any republican that is pro-choice as well.
i have no problem with individuality, trust me some of my friends are the definition of individual. i just get nutz when someone argues that killing a child is a ok thing to do.

The conservatives that assume that aren't thinking those thoughts by themselves; they are only reflecting what they have been told by one conservative pundit or politician or another.
Most liberals are against both religion and morality, without even realizing it, because it is intrinsic to their belief that morality and truth are both subjective, which means that since all beliefs are equal, they are also equally meaningless.
The foundation of religion and morality is that some actions are inherently good and some are inherently bad, while similarly, some ideas/beliefs are inherently true and some are inherently false, regardless of what people think about them.
In their desire to make morality and religion subjective and to make all religions and morals equal, liberals undermine the basic foundation and source of both in our society, which is the one OBJECTIVELY TRUE GOD.

I grew up with religious liberals, and even went to seminary with them. I know there are religious liberals, and liberals at their best were religious (ie, ML King).
First, if you're religious, you cannot believe that "morality is subjective." You have to believe that there are moral absolutes somewhere. In fact, all morality flows from religious beliefs somewhere.
Second, liberals used to be more straight-laced that the general population. Now they're just hedonists, who are willing to kill people in order to live their lifestyle. At one time, religious liberals didn't drink swear, etc -- and I'm talking about the 1960's. Now liberals want to have gay sex, advocate abortion for gender selection, censor conservatives that remind them about morals, etc.
So you have to chose - moral relativist (no God higher than yourself) or a believer in any traditional religion -- it's your choice.

This probably won't make it past the censors and will be reported but here goes. It is what they are told to think, it is like the myth that liberals all think abortion is okay, and liberals want to take your guns away from you. These things put fear in the harts of people and make them so called conservatives. But they are fed a constant barrage of these falsehoods from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter and Fox news, ect. If you tell a lie often enough you will get some people to believe it. It is the conservative media's way of converting people through fear. It does work for some but for most that can think for themselves they see through this as evidenced by the last election.

Having a cartoonish stereotype of the "opposition" means you don't have to honestly examine the issues, facts and logic in a debate, and allows you to avoid questions about your own motives.
