Retailers that used to be in the "red" will now make enough money to be back in the "black".

It is retailers biggest selling day of the year. They don't necessarily have to be in the red (debt ) to have a profitable (black) day.It's called "Black Friday" because they sell more on that day, than any other, obviously making that day profitable.

It's a good day for retail business. Some of them go from being "in the red" to being "in the black."

what they said.....ha ha no its such a busy day for any store in retail... so much is spent that day from customers shopping and eating out. Fast food places near shopping areas get busy as well. its a figure of speech meaning Real Good Business day.
