Yes it is. NO matter what kind of hernia you have, it's still bad b/c your intestines are dangling in your groin cavaty. (Or whatever hernia you have)
You need to go to the doctors to get it fixed. You may not feel pain but sometimes when you cough/laugh you can see the bulge. So go to the docs and get it fixed!
Than you can workout.

First is it an inguinal, umbilical or hiatal hernia? Asuming it's an inguinal, the tissue around that area has weeken and is prolapsing creating a sac, straining activities such as exercise, sex, lifting, can cause bowel to get trapped into the hernia sac, creating (a strangulated hernia) this will keep blood supply from entering or exiting and can cause tissue death, and not only will you need help to surgically repair the hernia, but also the trapped bowel. Also deepening on the location and how bad the hernia and bowel are trapped, can cause your balls to grow upto a size of a watermelon, if not treating on time.
My advise, go to the dr!!!

Up to a point and depending what it is you're doing. I lifted weights before I had mine operated on 2 years ago. Of course, I used a truss which helped a lot. Suggest you use a truss when you do work out.

If you are doing any bending or running then I would not suggest you work out until it gets better.
