Talk. Listen. Agree to work together to solve the problem(s). Express your needs. Listen to theirs.
Can both of you help out? Do both of you want to?

Sometimes you cannot meet anothers needs. That's ok
True friendship is one that you will meet their needs, without compromising yours and they do the same, and you love each other dearly all the more.
There is no true friendship if its not an equal give and take.

Step back, remember that the person you're arguing with is your friend. Hurting them shouldn't be your objective, voicing your needs should be.

But you both need to listen and be willing to compromise just a little and address each other's needs. Remember that needs are different from wants.

Big fights come from not listening, not understanding, not saying what needs to be said.

No, I have been friends with my closest friends any where from 9 to 22 years. We are generally too old and tired to bother with fighting, we usually play catch up by having dinner or talking on the phone. I left all that drama back in highschool. Life is just too short to have hostility between friends.

The last time I had a serious fight with one of my friends was in 7th grade. After that, we didn't talk for like 6 years. We recently started talking again and realized how stupid we were back then. It's hard to get over fights when your younger, but when your an adult, it's easy. You just talk it through.

Be the bigger person and take the blame and say your sorry for whatever it was that caused the hardship between the 2 of you. A fight like this shouldn't ruin a friendship, although it shouldn't. It should make each of you a better person. B/C that's what bumps and road blocks in life do for us. Helps us to be better friends with others!

Wow, guys are weird. I've been in alot of fights with my friends. And all you need to do is talk to them. I know sometimes its just scary to talk to them or maybe you dont even want to. But, the point is they are your friends. You'll never know what you did wrong or why they are mad at you until you talk to them. It will help, trust me.

I don't think this will help you much, but this is what I do. After all the blood is washed off, and everyone can walk under their own power again, I will offer to buy the beer if it was my fault. After a few brews we are back to being best buds again. (Don't think this works for the ladies, but there may be something like that you can do that ladies like.)

By "friend", I presume you mean "companion", although the answer would be the same. I get out of this by admitting that I was wrong. Even if I wasn't COMPLETELY wrong, you'd be surprised what a little humility and a cuddle can do. You leave THEM feeling guilty!

yes. Well most of the time if i do one of us ends with a black eye, but when i do get out of it it is by saying "What are we fighting about?" and then saying "Thats dumb we shouldnt even try to fight about this stuff." That works most of the time.

(Please answer my question, if you can.)
