i started spotting a couple of days ago, rang nhs direct and they said not to worry it was normal.(i knew i was pregnant) then yesterday i started to bleed like a very light period i went to hospital and they gave me all the examinations and said my cervix was closed and that this was a good sign. i went for a scan today and stilll bleeding i was told i'm about 4-5 weeks so they cudnt tell if the baby was still alive or not and it could just be implantation bleeding. tonight i went to they bathroom and had one clot bout half an inch to an inch long ive got no pain and the bleeding isnt any heavier could i have miscarried?

Did they take some blood and check your HCG levels? They ahould have. Usually, they check the lebvel and then have you come back in 2-3 days to re-check. Your HCG level should double every 48 hours.
I don't want to scare you because you may be just fine...but I had a miscarriage of multiples last December and it started with a light pink spotting and NO cramping. They said my cervix was closed and checked my HCG levels. They did a scan and weren't sure if I was really as pregnant as I thought I was because my babies were developed at all different rates. I thought I was 16 weeks, but one had developed to about 6 weeks, one at 8 weeks and one at about 10 weeks. My body had not rejected the pregnancy and I continued to produce amniotic fluid. I had to have a D&C because miscarrying triplets would be very messy, and could possibly cause an infection. It was 4 more days until they did the D&C and still, I had no cramping, and by that time, the bleeding had actually stopped.
If you are having a miscarriage I am sorry and my heart goes out to you. If you are trying to concieve....don't give up! I am now 33 weeks along with one very healthy and active baby girl.
Good luck and my prayers are with you.

The best advise to give you is go and see your doctor asap. Dont know whether your having a miscarriage or not. I have had two miscarriages, in my experience there is usually some pain or discomfort involved, and very heavy bleeding. Seek help as soon as soon as you can because obviously there as something going on, dont be fobbed off, if you are worried make sure you get get checked out properly. When i was pregnant with my first child i had some spotting when i was 6 wks, nothing was wrong and shes now 7 years old so it doesnt hav to be all bad news. I wish you all the best and good luck. Stay positive and take care.

Do you still have the clot? If so, look at it, and look to see if you see anything is attached to it. I say this because I had a miscarriage before, and it started as several small clots, then the last one was a big one, and attached to it was the baby, I was only 8 weeks pregnant so it was still small. When you went to the hospital or doctor, why didn't they listen for the heartbeat? When I was pregnant with my first child, I started bleeding also at about 3 months along, and I got put on bed rest, but I noticed when I drank a lot of fluids, and I drank Gatorade, I wouldn't bleed, but the moment I quit drinking it, I started bleeding again. This ended up only lasting though maybe 2 to 3 weeks. You definitely need to have this checked out, it wouldn't do anything good for you to go buy a pregnancy test because the hormones are still going to be in your system even if you have miscarried, and would give you a false result. But again, go have this checked out by an OB

they can tell if the baby is alive by looking at the shape of the bag of waters...you still may miscarry only god himself can stop it if your meant to have this child...i dont mean to sound rude but i had the same problem with my son (10 years ago) and with my five miscarriages...they found the sac was not the right shape with the last one and couldnt find the heart beat...when i was four weeks pg they did find the heart beat...at seven weeks they couldnt find it dont let the doctors lie to you...ask for a second opinion...you may enjoy the second results better than again you may not...by the way you dont always cramp with a miscarriage my first one i didnt have any cramps just spotting...my second one i heard the plop in the toilet and went to get a d and c to finish it...the third one i was really hurting cause i was 16 weeks along...damn doctors here didnt know what they were saying...they did check hormal level and it was dropping i refused the d and c because i was always hoping the test were wrong...try to relax and drink plenty of fluid...prop up your feet...enjoy life...and most of all dont stress out at all if possilbe

You have probably not miscarried since your cervix was closed yesterday and you have no pain. Try to relax...keeping yourself all uptight and worried isn't doing anyone any good. Rent some movies, read a good book. If you want to feel like your doing somthing to help, lay down and put your feet up. Good luck.

Talk to your doctor, sweetie!

Don't worry, but I think you need to tell your doctor they will know what is happening.

Usually when you miscarry, it takes a while and when it is for sure a miscarriage, you will feel it, trust me. It feels like the worst cramping you can get.

Try not to worry, Hun, just have your doctor check you out again!

GOOD LUCK, and don't get stressed.

you actually could have been pregnant with twins. sometimes one will miscarry and the other would stay in. also you could have just been having a light period and passed a clot. miscarriages are usually quite painful so i do not believe that you lost your baby. i will pray for you and the baby that you both will be alright.

well they actually can tell by blood tests, being this early in your pregnancy they can test your pregnancy hormone and then test it again in a few days. the hormone should be multiplying drastically. if it isnt or if it decreases youre miscarrying.
also, when you miscarry sometimes it takes two weeks to completely happen and the surest sign of a miscarriage is intense cramping and the blood youre spotting is brownish intead of red.
