I bought a router to link my two computers, that are in separate rooms, and I now find that indorder for it to actually work wirelessly my other computer needs to have somekind of adapter. What am I supposed to do now? Is there some sort of solution that doesn't involve me throwing more cash out the window?

You were told the wrong things when you bought the router.

Yes, if you want the entire thing to work wirelessly you'll need to buy a wireless NIC.

Even you buy a router and install wires between the router and computers or buy wireless router you have to replace Ethernet card with one that is wireless.
