I need sustenence, covering to love and be loved. These are my basic needs. However, in the world in which we live there are so many created needs. (Who would want to be alone on a dark highway without a cell phone?) Natural rivers and streams are polluted, so we need water purification systems, bath tubs, showers. If a sharp pain hits you in the chest in the middle of the night, be grateful that you can pick up a phone and call 911 and an ambulance arrives in minutes to get you to a modern hospital in time to save your life. My great grandmother did not have a refrigerator. They cured meat so that it lasted longer and killed a chicken for Sunday dinner just before it was cooked. In the mornings they went out to the chicken coop for eggs and picked vegetables from the garden. I get my food from the supermarket. Transport it to my home in an automobile and palce in the refrigerator or freezer until I am ready to prepare it. If I did not have a radio or television in August 2005 I would not have seen the weather reports or heard the mayor issue an evacuation of the city. I might have been one of the thousands who died in hurricane Katrina.. I would view all these things as needs. Yet once upon a time the were considered luxuries. I dare say that many of the things we now consider luxuries may become neccesities in the not too distant future.
The list of things that are superficial in my life is almost endless. But almost every time I make a purchase, I am fully convinced that this is something I need.

to be surrounded by the ones we love, good friends to help give us the positivity we need when we are surrounded by negativity an negative things that are happening to us. Happiness first and foremost if we dont have it then we merely exist instead of living, it doesnt matter how big or small are houses are or if we have the trendiest car in town our homes are where we live but its not what stuff you have in it necessarily that makes it a home its who is in it that makes it a home.Everything else is superficial if we arent happy with the way our life is going or who we may have in it.

I need intelligent people, ways to nourish myself, my music, laughter, family and good people in my personal life, something I love to do, I need to be able to help others in some way, love, a good man, and one day children, hmmm... and a good and consistant career.
I have done pretty well at blending out the superficiality in my life. As I am getting older, I am more decisive in my choices, so I do not suffer with this problem anymore!!

In my life I need God and Love. The things that I find superfluous are cable tv, milk chocolate, 37 extra pair of shoes, anything from McDonald's, my cherry pitter, the 50 extra pounds of weight that I carry and much much more.
Some of the things that I find superfluous or superficial actually bring me at least fleeting joy or pleasure, but rarely more than that.

Pretty much everything in my life is superficial. That way when I lost, it's not such a big deal.

I need- Air, water, substenance, clothing and a shelter.
I want- my children, a nice home, a enjoyable occupation and countryside walks.
Superficial things- expensive clothing, over the top vehicle, expensive foreign holidays etc......
My needs will always be the same but my wants change (apart from my babies) but everything else on top are just bonus'

forget all the physical stuff like food, water, air and money.. u need a reason to live.. something to say for things such as "oh ok, i will wait for 2moro to see that happening"
although the thing might not ever happen, if you suceed in making yourself beleive that it will happen someday, u will survive.
I personally keep living in hope that someday i will find why we are all on this earth.. that's the thing keeping me living
