I like Helmsman Spar Urethane for the bright work. On a teak deck, or steps, I prefer to use a teak oil. On the bottom, us a good quality anti-fouling paint. Remove any loose paint, rough it up, and apply at least two coats.

Sears makes a great anti-fouling bottom paint. Make sure you follow the directions exactly,and it will lat a long time. It is worth the money. No,I don't work for Sears.
