serpents were actualy considered a healing symbol and the celtic not means eternity so it means having healing that is eternal or in another sense healing that never leaves.

finaly a senseable question from one of the human race, do they not considered that many of my species encountered symbolys such as these everyday whilst encountering the heling powers of a troll born dwarf-primate

but as a celt they would have only given it as a gift as a gesture of health

Foolish human

arg foolish humans who know nothing about history arg
in response to whomever said a celtic serpant would have anything to do with St. Patrick oviously knows nothing about the celsts. The celts mave have bean converted to christinity mainly by him but they didnt create the story that he cast all snakes out of ireland, the would not have made a celtic neclace referancing to ST. Patrick as they were no longer celts andwould have made a little amulet with a picture of saint patrick on it.

Entwined serpents are a symbol of strength, re-birth and protection and their spiritual powers represent the awakened self. It is also believed that serpents drive away evil.

It means whatever YOU want it too, some people like to say that things have meanings set in stone... but personaly I doubt it.

Now OK, sure, bells tend to represent a wedding, but maybe for some people, or in other cultures, bells have another meaning... further still, for some individuals, they surely have personal meaning ? Say between lovers, or parents and children ? ( I used Bells to illustrate the point for simplicitys sake)

If the necklace was a gift, then why ? Is it a token of friendship ? or thanks ? or even of unrequited secret love ? It can mean any of these things. Ignore they 'symbolism' of the snakes for a moment, and understand the emotion behind the gift.

BUT..... Maybe you bought it yourself ? Then you need to ask yourself why you bought it ? what attracted you to it ? your meaning lies therein.

If you want to simply know what Celtic intertwined snakes mean, then unless you can find a genuine Celt of old, youre going to hear a lot of conjecture and very little in the way of fact.

Well.. the entertwined serpent thing makes me thing of Heimskringla, the World Serpent who encircled the world in Norse mythology, with its tail in its own mouth. I guess it means eternity or the wholeness of creation. Not sure about Celtic mythology but it's all sort of similar.

almost all Celtic designs are intertwined. the serpents could mean anything or nothing, actually most people who are not experts can't identify Celtic art animals but if it is a serpent it probably has something to do with St. Patrick

it particularly is now not evil. it particularly is now not Christian. Serpents signify expertise. the logo of the serpents around the workers is utilized via the scientific field..... except you hit upon drugs to be evil..... besides, that's as far from angelic as that's Christian. Are you a pagan or spiritualist?

Eternity

Sounds like a cadeucus--I think that's the correct spelling--the symbol that doctors use to indicate a healer. And it's supposed to be one snake for the medical field, not two.
