I don't think there's a lifeguard for life.
Unless you count God.
And due to free will, it's not like He can just sweep us back into perfect condition.
We drown and must save ourselves.
I'm through with depending on anyone else.
Straight-up, nobody gives a damn.

seems like I am always swimming in the deep end when the lifeguard isn't even on duty

Well my quess is that senario would only be able to happen once, so I guess I can not wish for it ever if I was dead.
