She can have her "tubes tied".
At your age, I think you should skip the surgical route and use condoms and spermicide. You may change your mind in the future. It will save her the expense, and pain.

Well good for u, at least u know what u want...Or do u?
Why do u care if it's irreversible?
By the way yes it can be reversed and the success rate of having kids is actually quite good for men. I have friends where both had reversal procedures. It's alot more complicated for the women and so is having the procedure. It's way easier for the man to have the procedure done, less complications etc if that is your method of preventing pregnancy.
Wear a condom with your wife using an IUD...and u should not have any children unless u both change ur minds. Sounds, like u think u will in the future?

I have seen A LOT of IUD pregnancies....but I'd say use a combination of something. The depo shot seems to be very effective, and the pill is pretty dang effective as well! A vasectomy IS reversible, just very expensive to undo! There is someone out there who has gotten pregnant using everything. Including tubal ligation and vasectomies (my brother was a vasectomy baby and my hubby's brother was a tube tied baby!) There is nothing you can trust 100%!!! Unless she wants to have her whole dang uterus removed! I would just be careful, combine methods that work best for you both, and don't let her talk you into doing something semi-permanent that you don't want to do.

You sound like me and my husband 5 years ago, LOL, I didn't want to have any kids but he refused to have a vasectomy, and I am SO glad he didn't!! after 6.5 years of marriage and a lot of partying and well a lot of the "single life" we realized that it was time to settle down and have a little one who we could teach everything we have learned in life. We are in our 30's now and feel ready to be parents, it is just part of the human nature, believe me, the "my clock is ticking" thing is TRUE! it tics!!! anyway, tell your wife to rely on the pill, after my husband refused to have a vasectomy I decided to get on the pill, I took it everyday religiously! I might have missed a pill or two every now and then but never got pregnant! If taken the way you should take them they work, for those who get pregnant while on the pill is because they didn't take it properly and now they BLAME it on the pill, I don't believe those women. Anyway, that is the only thing I can think about because she can have the surgery to get her tubes tied but why would she want to go trough something like that? you can always use a condom, but sex is not fun with a condom! To me, the pill is the way to go.

Vasectomy is not irreversible and it is an easier surgical procedure to recuperate from than for a tubal ligation for a woman. The pill does have some side effects that some women don't care for such as lowered libido. Maybe both of you should talk to a doctor to determine what other options would work for you.

Vasectomies are not irreversible I know three men who have gone and had theirs reversed and were successful and now have kids.
The cheapest easiest least painful is the vasectomy. So buck up and go get clipped! I did and that was years ago, it's a quick in and out job now a days.
The worst part is laying there totally exposed while someone is around your prize possessions and jewels with a scalpel!
Oh and all the trips back with your little jar of sperm to see if your count went down.
At least it's not (or I don't think they do it anymore) where they make you ---------- in jar in a room in the doctors office for your sample!
Best sure fire way to make sure you have no babies! And it doesn't make any difference in us and what comes out! Not a bit of difference except no little sperm boys and girls trying like hell to swim up to that egg!
How about your wife get that implant or shot or something that is even easier!

A vasectomy is NOT a temporary measure. It's very expensive to have reversed and there is no guarantee that it would work. If she does not trust the pill and IUD might be a good option, not all doctors will use and IUD for a woman that has had no children, so using the Depo shot (given every 3 months) is probably a better option.

the pill is 99.9% dependable. They don't give it a 100% because the woman might not take it everyday at the same time, etc. If she takes it everyday at the same time, she will only get pregnant by a miracle of God. I skip around on pills and don't always take it right, and my chances are still slim.
What is the problem here? Do you not want to get the vasectomy? While it is safer for you to do so than for her to get her tubes tied, are you fearful? Are you afraid you might change your mind down the road?
She can't decide what you do to your body. If you don't want to do it, tell her to get her tubes tied. If maybe you think you want to have kids down the road and that's why you're afraid, then talk to her.

A vasectomy is NOT irreversable. Neither is a tubal ligation. Try doing a little research. Look at this website if you do not believe me.

A vasectomy is painless and inexpensive. It is likely free, if you have health insurance.
I paid cash back in about 1988, and it cost me only about $250.
I knew I wanted one when I was 15. It took me until about 21 to find a doctor to do it. They kept refusing because I didn’t have any kids. I never want them.

I have seen lots of advertisements for vasectomy reversal, so I am sure that someone somewhere could reverse it if you really changed your mind. It is supposed to be less expensive that getting the tubes tied. If not, try the IUD, that should work fine.
