I have been playing tennis for exactly 1 year and 1 month. I have improved very very fast, and now I play for my college team. I would love to go pro in about 2 more years. What are my chances, and what steps would i need to take to get there? I just turned 20 in July.

First of all, do you have any idea how early professional players begin playing? I understand that if you practice enough, being very, very, very involved in tennis, you could do quite well. It's very surprising that you could only play one year (and one month) and make your college team. I guess if you really know you have a chance, you should just make it the biggest part of your life, and go for it!

to be honest, you probally cant turn pro. there are so many tennis players in the world who want to do that, and most of them have been training literally since they were 3. if you just started playing when you got to college, it probally means ur not on a division 1 team. even players who are on a division 1 college team usually dont make it pro. there is however a difference between being on the atp tour or the wta tour. if you worked very hard maybe you could join a club tennis team, but still it would be very hard. just stick to what you got now and enjoy tenis as a hobby, thats the great thing about the sport, you can play until your 90

You are a late starter in a sport where people usually start at an early age and big improvement in the first year is normal. You have obviously done very well to date so what you have to do now is put in the hard yards, put yourself out there and hope for the best. You will know in 2 years if you are good enough to turn pro. Very best wishes.

It would be immpossible im 13 years old and have been playing tennis for 8 years for about 3 hours a day since I was 9. I know people who train twice as hard as me and are almost double my age and have been playing all theyre lives and cant even break into the top 1000. It would be absoultely immpossible for you to go pro. Trust me!!!

well you need to know how much better you are than everyone. If your like the 7th one in ranking than you had better train alot during the 2 years you want to wait before you go pro.But practice alot anyway every time you can.at least twice a day.
