sarcasm is always deeply inflicted when speaking of a "fat chance", which in effect means the same as a slim chance. it's silly.

compared to 'you have a slim chance of ever going to do that'

one is less absolute than the other...see

"fat chance" is sarcasm
"slim chance" is rational

it depends on what kind of person you are who you are saying to.

'Slim chance' is the polite way, wheras 'fat chance' would be the sarcastic way of saying it, I would think!
