yes people have really lost sight of what Christmas is all about.sure Saint Nick was a guy who gave out toys at Christmas to children back in the day and yet we celebrate him more than the real reason he did it, and that was to give honor to the Christ child that was born on this most Holy day. every where you go you should remind some one of the real reason we give gifts on this day remind them of the three kings that brought gifts to the true king of this world, our Lord and Savior Jesus Chirst.

It is Jesus's Christ's birthday. And I know alot of people think that people have lost sight on the true meaning of christmas with the gift giving. Just like with today being "black friday". Yes I went shopping today, I look at it like this God has blessed me with the money and I want to show my family how much I love and care for them buy buying them gifts. Our family never did the Santa thing. I don't see how little kids really believed that an old guy climbed through the cheminy... what if you didnt have one? We give thanks for being blessed through the year with health and being finacially stable to have a big christmas. If it wasn't God's will it wouldn't happen. I don't think anything is wrong with it, if you give God the glory and you don't put yourself in debt doing it.

Not really. Christmas means, "to spend time with the family and loved ones, celebrating Jesus's birthday!"

Yes people have lost sight of the real meaning of Christmas. It has become a time to shop for the latest cool things. This time is for the honoring of a man who came to bear the sins of the whole world, who gave up more than anyone can imagine to provide a way for you and me to be reconciled to a perfect God. We are all sinners and as such are headed for death as if bitten by a deadly viper (snake). Jesus conquered sin and death at the cross and is the cure for the snake bite called sin. Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life. whoever comes to me I will by no means turn away. Jesus gave the most precious gift that cannot be out done by whatever you may dream up. Our lives here are described in the bible as a vapor, a blade of Grass; here today and gone the next. Jesus said that He gives eternal life to those who receive Him as if receiving a gift from someone, you have to reach out and take hold of the gift. To receive the gift that Jesus gave all mankind you simply believe in your heart that you are a sinner in need of a savior and ask Him (Jesus) to come in and take control of your life. You do not have to prepare yourself like taking a shower to wash all the dirt away. You come as you are and Jesus does the rest and you don't even know sometimes that you are changed until someone says to you ("what's different about you?"). The coolest gift is what Jesus did for me and you. Lets love Him and follow His command to love our neighbors as ourselves.
PS lets move our lives away from TV and spend time with our families encouraging one another learning to do things playing outside and all that!

It means the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus CHRIST. I like to give a gift to someone or some charity that really is helping the poor like the Salvation Army. Jesus said what you do for others you do for me. I don't see anything wrong with Santa Claus as long as too much emphasis is not placed on that side of things. I give gifts to family also to show them I love them. Sometimes we have a birthday cake in Sunday School and write Happy Birthay to Jesus on it.Then we explain to the children we give gifts to each other to show love because Jesus wants us to love one another.

Since I am in no way religious you may be right. I do enjoy the day spent with my family, but find the lead up to christmas more of a pain with all the commercial side of it.
