Average teacher salary = $46,597 in 2004
Approx. hours per year: 180.3 days x 6.7hours = 1208.01 hours
Hourly rate: $46,597/1208.01=$38.57/hour
This of course does not include time for parent-teacher conferences, time for grading tests and making lesson plans, and other duties like chaperoning dances.

Well let's see. I'm paid around $93,000 a year, (but I teach summer school and tutor Advanced Placement students after school for an hour.) So that means I teach 210 days of school a year, seven hours a day, or 1470 hours of teaching a year. Dividing 93,000 by 1470 is about $63 an hour.
And there you have it.

That would depend on how much their salary is... you would need to provide what board they work for, or at least what city, or even what country... And of course are you talking entry level or a teacher that's been at it for 30 years?
