Well the best bands in the world are from the UK so I'm going to say The Beatles, the Stones, Led Zep, Queen, and The Who. People like that.

There are so many great uk rock bands that have been around, i think too many greats from the past to name and the uk rock scene is always thriving, if I had to pick my favourite recent uk band it would have to be snowpatrol there albums eyes open and the trip are amazing

Firstly ac/dc are Aussie (three born in the uk but they are an Austrlian band) and as for the best UK band - Jethro tull and Orange Goblin for me, my other half would say Hakwind and Motorhead

hey i dont like em that much... but the stones kinda shaped rock n roll and survived really long. thats for classic rock.
for metal, black sabbath
goth, the cure
pop, the beatles
