old school for sure, back when what you were hearing were peoples true unsynthasized voices, and non computer created background music, it was real instrumental. I like some of todays stuff too, but so much of it has "Cherry picked" from old school classics (uh ripped off) that it's hard to give full credit to todays re-make artists.
Aretha, Patty La Belle, Dianna Ross, Smokey,Ike & Tina Turner, Billy Holiday, Peobo Bryson, Ella Fizgerald, The Funk Brothers who were responsible for 90% of Motown's instrumental plus other genres,Sister Sledge etc. etc. truely talented Artists, though they didnt earn a fraction of what todays do :( But in all fairness I think Beyonce earns everydime of her bankroll, she's a true superstar!

randomly, i really like punk rock band rise against. they rock super-hard and kick ***. but mostly i just like rock. i don't like radio rock that much except U2 and Green day. alot of music today is not that much about social change or the war, but just wanna sing about how much they like sex. thats why i don't like that many mainstream rock bands. i don't like much else but rock. some pop is good, and i might have heard a decent hip-hop song. but i think rap mostly sucks.

most of your new skool music is sampled from old skool. what exactly is original music nowdays? definetly old skool. music back then meant something and you could relate to it. nowdays it's just about sex and breakup.
