well, when my parents found out that my mom was pregnant, all they hoped for was a male. apperantly, it came out to be a girl [me]. so i was raised liek a male. i have been playing football since i was 2 and basketball since i was 4. so whan i hang out with guys [90% of my friends], they always comment and say that "wow, i've never met a girl like u! ur so ghetto even though ur not black, u know more about sports than most men, and you're so tough!" i hate that, but i cant change who i am, evan though im not what people [males & females] think of what a typical girl should be. how can i change my self without being "girly/girlish"?

nothing wrong about being a tom boy i am the same way, i have two older brothers who i look up to and they helped raised me. and of course i am not as lady like as some, i love sports more than any girl i know and most men, my friends are over 90 percent male, i'm quite tough seeing as i would fight lots with my brothers growing up, had to defend myself.lol... but honestly guys always told me that its a turn on, and that they wish more girls were like that. If you want to be more girly girl, than dont change your attitude change more your look, such as wear some more makeup, were short skrits, high heels, tight jeans, and get lots of pink. You can still be a girly girl with out having to change who you are, guys will love it, and prob find more in common with you than any other girl, trust me i am sure they will find it a turn on, show them that you are tough and dig sports but when the sun goes down you can dress up looking amazing, its everything a guy would want!

Ms. Zigy, I read between the lines of your post a desire to be more girly but a lack of knowledge as to how to go about it. If you did not care about this issue, you would not be asking the question.
You can still enjoy all the things you enjoy and be a girl. You can play football and then go and get a pedicure. You can enjoy a sports event and still enjoy the uniqueness we have as women and the wonderful things that are in our world.
You were born with things that men will never have and it’s a grand life we live. We are not equal to men but we are different from them. There is great power in being a woman but this power also comes from the understanding about our differences and how we can use and enjoy them.
Begin your journey by getting to know your body better… the girly part of it. Experiment with dressing differently and feel the power that brings you. Get to know your skin better and buy some girly things to make it feel and look better. You can try a line like MAC that is more suited for your lifestyle.
So when you take off the football outfit… let there be lacy girly things underneath. If you can live in both worlds, I think you will find as you get older, this will be very attractive to men. I have rock climbed, ridden my own motorcycle but there is no one more girly than me in my circle of friends :)
GIRL POWER!!!!
Email me if you need help with any of this.

Try injecting small bits of girlyness into your personal style. Start small with a pink water bottle, and cuter tops. Try buying sports bra in pretty colours, and just wearing a tank over it ,so you can see a bit of it. Grow your hair out, and wear cute braids, and cute sporty styles. Companies make alot of cute sporty clothes for women now.
I have kind of the same problem sometimes, I'm quite muscular, and I like being strong ,but sometimes men don't see that your not all that tough, that you have a softer side.
One thing that I do and I will say that men really really notice, is I take good care of my feet, and keep my toenails a pretty colour. Then when I pull off my rock climbing shoes, there it is: a little bit of feminity.
I hope this helps a bit, and remember you are not going to be sexy to everyone, but there are guys out there who think girls like you and I are hot hot hot

Why do you want to change yourself? Just be who you are. You may find as you get older that you are more attracted to "feminine" things like fashion, makeup etc.- or not as the case may be. Either way you don't have to give up sports and hanging out with guys if that's what comes naturally to you. Yes you can have it both ways. People will find you more attractive if you make small concessions to looking "feminine", like finding clothes and a hairstyle that are flattering and not totally butch, but really it's all up to you.

if your changing yourself to get a man then that is a bad idea girl!!!, if you are who you are and your happy with that do change 4 any 1. if you have to change to fit in or 4 some1 else then your just being false, not all guys like screeching giggling girly girls, b u girl not some1 you think every one else wants you to be and if a man don't appreciate you 4 that then honest as cliche as it sounds he ain't worth it.

Do not change yourself!!! I grew up the same way and some guys tried to change me but I was not happy. Now I met a gut that loves to hunt, fish, etc. as much as I do and I found other women like me too!

This is a very simple answer DO NOT CHANGE. Whats wrong with how you are? If you are comfortable in your own skin who cares what others may think or feel. Be who you are and enjoy it.
