well I've been a pagan for a long time and I've never heard the term but if its anything like a hedge-witch then its someone who practises by themselves, in other words they don't belong to a coven.

The Woodwitch tradition was founded upon principals and traditions which were established over thirty years ago. The Gathering Of Sherwood is effectively the bastion of these principals and the Woodwitch tradition, and therefore, continues to observe them and guard them well to the present day. They are central to the Woodwitch tradition and philosophy and in themselves form part of the distinctiveness of the Woodwitch tradition.
