I was a little kid, annoying my mother as she folded laundry while watching a soap opera. Then Walter Cronkite broke the news....

And yeah, I noticed that Wednesday was the 22nd. I notice every year.

(43rd anniversary, by the way. President Kennedy was killed on Nov. 22, 1963.)

I was at school (2nd grade) and the principal announced that the President was shot. I remember watching the funeral on TV and John saluting the Caisson as it went by in the funeral procession. I thought Mrs. Kennedy was a very strong woman not to cry.

I was in 8th grade study hall......the principal came in and told us that President Kennedy was shot. Then he left the room. About 1/2 hour later the principal announced over the PA that Kennedy was dead we all were so stunned. My mom picked me up from school and when we came home we watched it on black and white TV. We cried and felt so bad. I remember it like it was yesterday.....I am 57 yrs. old.

I was only 2 at the time. But I always remember my now late mother telling the story of how she was on her knees scrubbing the kitchen floor, when she heard the announcement come over the radio. I never saw her shed tears in my life, but she claims she was bawling heavily that afternoon.
