Cried. Lay on my back in bed and cried till my ears were full...talked to him, begged him to come back, wished I could have killed myself (no guts, no trucks big enough on the way home from the vet with his baby body next to me on the seat). He was a 3-1/2 year old cat I'd raised from 3 days, and he was all the love I had, or wanted. I cried more for him than I did for my parents.

That's something that we will be enduring within the next couple of weeks and it's going to be very hard. Our 20+ year old beloved cat has gone blind and gets lost so easily in the house now, she gets in a room and can't find her way out and just starts screaming, My husband is very close to her and I'm not gonna have her put down until he's ready. She's get herself so turned around then she can't find the litter pan so the carpet has become her litter pan and honestly I'm ready to see her go but it's my husband's decision.

Get a new puppy. That happened to us 4 years ago. My Golden Retriever, aged 2, greeted my daughter at the door one night and collapsed, died instantly of a heart attack. He had an inoperable heart murmer for one year prior to this.Sad and so shocked,(still brings tears to my eyes thinking of it now). But we were so lucky to get a new puppy,Natalie, one month after this from the same family. A beautiful, healthy female. She's doing just fine and this helped us cope better and move on with our lives.
Good luck to you and my deepest sympathy.

I was raised with dogs. Evertime one died I cried. But my last one was 11 years ago and it was very very sad. We had to put him to sleep. He is buried in our back yard. I have been asked by 3 neighbors to be with them when their dogs have died. So I always prepare a prayer and candles around the grave site. I have a 11 yr. old Lab now and this on will be the hardest because he is so good, loveable and very spoiled. I love him so very much.
