That is just an excuse. A good parent will see thier children regardless of the reasons for the divorce. It is just an excuse to not be responsible, which way to many parents do! I wouldnt care if i got yelled at, called names or anything my kids are first and i would put up with whatever i had to in order to be with them!

NO. That is an excuse. A real man admits to his mistakes and keeps a relationship with his kids no matter what happens. The reason he is spending less time with his son is because he is selfish and cares more for himself than his son. As a man whose father left when I was 3 yrs. old I wish there was a way I could sue my father for neglect. This boys father will be the one who loses in so many ways but unfortunately your son I'm sure is hurt. All you can do is try to work with the father to set up more regular visitation.

Yes, this is true. They may feel that there is no chance at salvaging the relationship with the kids although it's not true, they let fear debilitate them and they stay away. "If you don't take the bull by the horns it will turn around and gore you to death" Tell him that. It's hard because then you have to come up with an explanation for the kid(s) Never lie to them but give them an age appropriate explanation.

Nothing can keep me from my kids.
There's something about men that allows (some) of them to walk away from their kids. Maybe it's because they didn't grow the baby inside them and then give birth so they're not as connected as we are. Maybe it's because society has allowed the disconnection for so long (deny it's your baby, assault the woman's reputation by calling her a **** or a liar, and go on your merry way with no repercussions). Maybe because they're allowed to be selfish ("boys will be boys") and immature (it's a guy thing!). I don't know why they are the way they are. I'm just really glad to have found one who isn't that way!
I hope things work out for you and your kids!

Maybe he is afraid of having to talk to you againg and facing al the drama just to see his kids. He is a coward.
Also, his new gf or wife maybe too inmature to understand and is giving him hell about wantng to see the kids,. New gf or wives maybe jealous and controlling, speciially if they have a kid already by him.
If he was real man and not a coward... then he would... but for most part, they just move n and they don;t want the hassle and think that paying child support is enough.
Good luck

So can immaturity, irresponsibility, a**hole-ery.
He should be ashamed of himself.
He will regret it one day. I just feel bad for your son =(
