I would rather be traveling to England than from England but that's because I live in Vegas and it's not special to me anymore. But stay at the Gold Coast. The rooms are $39.95 a night depending on when you make your reservation. It's not on the Strip but it's close. They offer a 24hr free shuttle that will take you to the Strip. Even if you took a cab it wouldn't be that much. I wouldn't suggest walking (although you technically can) just because you have to walk across a busy freeway ramp to get to the Strip.

I'd suggest contacting Keizer Travel in Keizer, OR. My husband and I went through them, got 4 nights at the Aladdin, plus air fair for the month of April for less than $700. They were cheaper than any online fares we found or other travel agencies.
