I can't really generalize the entire country. I spent a summer in France and had good and bad experiences. Some people were really sweet, tried to help me out as best they could with the language and the culture and then there were some who were very rude and made disparaging remarks about the US.

I think it comes down to the person, not the country.

I love French people. I have been to France three times, and every time I've met wonderful people. The stereotype of French people being rude is ridiculous. The ones I have met have been super friendly and very open and outgoing.

For my part, I think that we are a people a bit weird ...we try to unite a France but actually french culture is not one unique culture, it is the summ of many regional cultures ..

I hope sometimes the world with see France not like a unique culture and country but as this patchwork like Spain or Germany.

French people are a bit like American people, they pretend to know what is to be good for the whole world ... and they dont apply it to themselves (not all the time)

But I hope we can be nice most of the time ...

i lived in France for 14 years. Basically people are the same everywhere when you get to know them. Different cultural habits
eating habits etc become superficial when you know people.
If you don't speak the same language then misunderstandings are bound to occur. I really enjoyed living in France and it is an old western european country like Britain. With the french revolution there is more of a history of common protest and the french state is much more protective of its population.

I've worked/known a few French people and I found them really nice . But these are french people in Ireland so they have travelled (not just to Ireland obviously) so maybe they are different to regular french people

I have visited France twice, once just in Paris and once throughout the nation, and both times have convinced me of the generally good nature of the French populous. Like any people, there are obviously those who are rude and play to the general stereotype; however, it was my experience that they were kind, accomodating, helpful, and friendly. I cannot wait to visit again, if only to interact with the citizens of France.

Lovely people.
The Scots used to share joint nationality with the French in the wars against the English.
Who else hankers after the good old days?

Mostly very nice. I think they get a raw deal from alot of Brits and Irish. They are just a bit lazy when it comes to making an effort to speaking english to tourists. I did live in France for six years though and found them generally verynice and obliging.
