it most likely will not start, each pc will require different drivers and usually the boot up will just stop about 20 seconds after turning on the pc and the pc will restart.

you can install 2 seperate copys of windows on the 1 drive and at boot up you will be asked which one you want to use, the second copy should be installed on the second pc.

you will have access to all the files still but all your settings will need to be done individualy for each windows. any files you put in my documents on one pc will not be in the my documents folder on the other pc either.

it may work with 2 pc's built with exact identical components but its not guaranteed.

You can swop drives provided it is on identical machines Otherwise windows will have a problem with some of the hardware. It may detect and install drives for some of the hardware but it is easyer just to run windows setup and reinstall. As long as you do not Fdisk the drive your data should be ok.

Rule number one Back it up First!

Take the dvd-rom stress out of your pc, and placed it on your bosses' 'puter,(will could upload drivers, of course! receive from dvd producer. that's clearly if bosses' pc's gadget will run the OS your setting up. WinXP comes on a cd. Takes 256MB's of Sdram a minimum of, and a 500MHz processor. Vista has it is very own gadget propietary's. have not put in WinVista. Comes on a DVD? In the two case Microsoft OS'es are designed to be placed on one pc,(retail), the only's you're able to do different installs are OEM that the employer has paid for various license's. They pay for a definite style of them. If that's your disk, it could have been activated on your pc, and if someway you do get the OS to place in to the bosses' pc, it will be attentive to that that's no longer the unique pc it became into put in on. domicile windows actual benefit gadget verify's this,(updates for bosses' pc), plus the 1st time an OS from Microsoft is put in it records formats. they arrive from the harddrives serial quantity,(does not easily checklist the serial quantity, basically supplies a codec to verify it), the BIOS application put in on the mobo, or maybe exams the cpu. those are sent to Microsoft once you turn on the OS. So, end? make certain your bosses' pc's gadget will run the OS you're setting up. on account that's a clean HD, have the boss purchase a clean reproduction of the OS, and a clean dvd burner stress. they're basically $40-50 greenback's from Walmart, or on line. i like the Lite-On burner. Or circulate to Ubuntu Linux 7.10.
