Wait another week and re-take the test. The answer should be a little more clear.

It could have been that you took it later in the day, it is best to take it first thing in the morning. That is when your hormone level will be most concentrate, but I have heard that if you can see a positive line, no matter how light it is that means that you are pregnant. With my current pregnancy I knew that I was pregnant(this is my third child), I have tell-tell signs, But the positive line was light, and I didn't retake it. I took mine when I was about 2 weeks late, and in the evening. I am almost 24 weeks pregnant. So it is really up to you.
If you want to have a dark line, make sure you take it in the morning. Good luck!!

Actually, I had the same EXACT problem with my pregnancy test. Did you get the common test with 2 control windows one to show it worked and then one to show a positive or negative, like the ept? http://automedix.biz/e_p_t_pregnancy_test.html

If so, one line in the positive test is usually lighter than the other. In my test the vertical line was dark and obvious, however the horizontal line was faint, and left me questioning whether or not I was pregnant.

If I were you I would take the test as a positive one, and to get your reassurance get to a doctor to make sure. I was pregnant. You probably are too. Don't bother to buy another test like I did, take my advice and follow up with a doctor.

There are 3 possibilities : you're not pregnant; the test is faulty; or the egg has only just started producing the hormone which the test detects, and there is not enough to give a clear result. Try the test again in a couple of days, and if it's still unclear, consult your physician for a blood beta-hCG test.

No matter how faint if it's positive, it is. Different tests use different levels of dyes, thus making the line more difficult to see.
