I don't even know where to start with this woman. She's very narrow-minded. It's very hard to have an intelligent discussion with her because her take on everything is that she's right and everyone else is wrong, including me. She treats me like I'm a child. The most annoying thing she does though, is when she'll tell me something one day and then tell me a week later that she was just kidding. I've tried to explain to her that we call that "lying". Her response is one of amusement. She tells me that I should know she's kidding. Ummm, no? Then she gets mad when I call her a liar. What to do?

Whenever I try to bring any of this to her attention, it gets turned around on me, and I'm the one with the problem. She gets mad and says, "whatever".

This woman has some serious problems. This sounds dismissive, but I don't think she's worth your friendship. She'll just cause you more trouble in the future.

For some reason she thinks you and everyone else knows her and accepts her intent in what she says. Actually, she does not realize that her intent is not getting out...only the text, and that is making people very angry. The tell you something and then a week later say "just kidding" thing sounds like she is an internally very mixed up person. She may have had some awful experience in a relationship and this behavior is some kind of defense mechanism.

Try to sit down with her in a quiet place and express your concerns. When she dismisses something you say as wrong, tell her to at least try and consider what you said. Tell her that her attitude is driving you apart.

It may be difficult to get your message across, given the circumstances. Try not to use inflammatory terms like "liar." Focus on the behavior, not the person. Good luck with this, whether you succeed or not, she will eventually realize that only a true friend would try to help someone in this kind of situation.

Normally I'd say bring this issue to her attention, but with her there's no point. You can reason with an un-reasonable person. This person you call friend does not sound like much of a friend at all. I suggest stop hanging out with her, find someone that values you as a friend and respects your opinions & feelings ; this girl obviously doesnt

Maybe it's time to re-evaluate the "friendship". Is she a family member or just an aquaintance? True friends won't treat you that way. I would distance myself from her & make new friends.

she sounds as if she isnt the center of attention then its no fun for her, I have a friend like this, and most people dont like her because of her attitude, why do i stick by her because deep down she is a good person, I dont know about your friend, but maybe the more you tell her about herself maybe she will stop, it is somewhat working for my friend

Why have an ignorant and annoying friend in the first place.

Maybe you could take up a new hobby and be busy doing something else so you don't have to deal with her so much.

First: if you call her ignorant, then she is not your friend.

We love our friends.

Love accept all situations.

Never forget: we are all ignorant in some sense.
