I heard a fellow once state "there are no absolutes" which he implied as an absolute, so without much thought I concluded he was wrong.

Don't let them pull that "relative" stuff on you. I've been through college, too, and let me say that if they're right -- and we can't know anything with absolute certainty -- then philosophy professors would be out of a job! So they try to make you think that you can't know anything for sure so you will buy anything they have to sell.
Ask them: "How do we know with absolute certainty that you are the person my tuition paid for to teach me philosophy, and how do I know that what you are teaching me is philosophy?" That'll get the ball rolling. ;)

I know God exists, and I'm absolutely certain! Just look around you. Have you ever seen a building without a builder? Have you ever seen a painting without a painter? There's no way this world exists without a Creator!
Have a blessed weekend,

I think there are things we know with absolute certainty....we know eye color, we know our gender....we know if we are feeling happy or sad or angry...
I am sure there are other things but those are the ones that come to my mind right now....
