well some I'm sure will disagree with me on this but the corvair is the first 60's era muscle car. yea you can say the mustang but before the mustang the corvette ran the roads and the corvair spider with a 4 speed transmission could all day long blow the doors of the corvette of that era then known as the fastest car. it had 180 hp for a 164 cu in engine that is 1.09 hp per cu in of engine. but many will disagree. but then they were not in those corvettes that got beat by the corvairs! sorry.
