either a psychologist or if necessary commit them to a hospital. It sounds bad but really it's for the best. Someone who cuts themselves does it for a number of reasons ranging from a need for attention to a deep and misunderstood pain. Either way it has the potential to escalate to suicide. And it's just good to learn those coping skills a psychologist would give them so they won't have to result to self-injury when they feel bad inside

Generally speaking: When one cuts themselves there punishing themselves for something they may have done in which they feel it's entirely there fault.
This is definitely a cry for help, and also, it can have a horrible negative impact on the cutter as the Psyche's would call this a form of self-sabotage.
Good luck.

yes. It can be a sign of any number of mental illnesses from depression to Borderline Personality Disorder. Personally I think a psych should be close by for all teens.

yes, this person needs to be seen by a professional psychologist. self-mutilation is not normal and is a sign of severe depression and other psychological problems

Seeking some kind of help for them is not only necessary, but is legally called for in most jurisdictions.

yes it is necessary i grew up seing my mother do it to make her pain from things go away she never did it infront of me and my siblings but we saw scars and then my sister grew up thinking it was ok to do it herself so she didnt have to deal with hurt she hurt herself instead eventually she seeked help herself and its been 3 years and she is doing so much better they put her on meds and took her through counseling she wouldnt be the person she is today if it werent for the professional help.I would do it asap dont hesitate if you do its just going to make it harder for them to stop.

"Oh... i will turn water into wine, shall we get rotten inebriated." <= particularly? You sound quite sensible. It seems such as you're merely seek for a thank you to bash Jesus. the two that or you lack any variety of lateral thinking.

doesn't matter the reason, they are obviously asking for help. Cutting is poor coping and needs to be addressed.
