Chalk or Calcium Carbonate does not have a discrete molecular structure. In the solid state it does have repeating units of a Calcium cation alternating with Carbonate anions. These are held together by ionic bonds.

Chalk has a weak molecular bond and a loosely packed structure. It is often listed as Calcite which is only 3.0 on the mineral hardness scale.
