A good rate is $10-15 an hour.

Obviously, it depends on how big your house is.
If you find the right person and your house is small you could expect around $30.

You could save money by finding a starving college student or illegal alien.

Approx. $20.00 an hour. And whomever you hire is going to want a minimum number of hours, usually equal to half a day which is approximately 4 hours. Maybe you have a close neighbor willing to share cleaning hours with you. If you only wash dishes once a week and clean the bathroom only every 2 weeks, You may need someone to come in monthly and spray for roaches and bugs.

Be prepaired, cleaning prices can run from $10 an hr to $30. Most clening services will wanna put you on a every week or a every other week, for the simple reason of having other customers. Network w/ ppl that you go to church, work, etc and ask around, word of mouth is the best form of advertisement. I know because i'm a Domestic Engineer :)

I found it expensive and of poor quality. They did basic stuff like stacking all my books, and clothes in a pile, but failed to do core things like scrubbing the floors/counters, cleaning windows, dusting, etc. Basically things I needed done weren't done. And it ended up being about $300 for the day for 2 people. Seems somewhat cheap, but the two people did very little.

around here it is about 3X the minimum wage.
about $15-$20 per hour.
though i prefer to pay by the job--they work very quickly.
one problem is access (they will have to have a key to your house) and trust issues if you aren't there.
