I would transition. If you are feeding your baby 6 ounces. Feed him or her 5 oz of the prepared and 1 ounce of the powdered. Keep changing the amounts till you have made a complete switch.

Hope that helps because the powder formula is sooo much cheaper!

It appears I type to slow....

There are two things you can do: one has already been suggested, and that is to slowly mix powdered formula with ready-to-feed formula until eventually the baby's getting more powdered than ready-to-feed.

The other thing is to make sure you are mixing the powdered stuff very well. My bottles come with caps so you can shake up the powder & water, but I found that didn't mix things very well. So make sure you're using very warm tapwater (so it's easier for the powder to dissolve) and use a spoon to stir the formula into the bottle. You'll find that the powder dissolves a lot better this way.

Mix it and add a little to the prepared formula to get them used to it.

i work in day care and can tell you that you can not make them drink powdered formula straight but you can do it slowly by putting it half and half and before you know it they are drinking powdered formula.
