Mix about 1/8 cup bluing with about 3/4 cup water. Add to the washer while it starts aggi-
-tating (washing). Be carefull not to pour directly on clothes as it will spot and stain it. Or
just add to water BEFORE YOU ADD CLOTHES. Good luck, it's not hard.

Check out the Mrs. Stewart website for more information on bluing and its many uses--laundry and more--than I ever imagined was available.

Bluing is an old product. It was used when washing white cottons, to get rid of yellow discoloration. These days, cottons do not yellow like they used to. Lots of treatments like mercerizing are done in the manufacturing process.

When washing whites, use hot water and non-clorine bleach. That will work better.
