I know about the MIT guys who did it, But they all cheated. My question was can anyone make money in Blackjack without cheating.

Never gamble more than you can afford to lose. As for me, I would rather set fire to individual dollar bills and watch the flames than gamble.

By using a basic strategy, you can reduce house edge to 0%. But that offers no guarantees. You need to walk away at the right time, and/or be card-counting and increase your bets at the right time.

But - card counting is not cheating. Do not call it that. It is using a mental process without the aid of mechanics or computers to calculate an advantageous way to play the game. If that was cheating, then so is studying your homework.

Counting cards like the MIT people did is NOT cheating. They were using their brain. Only because they were smart enough to figure the game out and make money on it doesn't make them cheaters.

yup many many really smart and some who were just persistent did.

The most creative were from MIT and they did it as teams.

There is a really good book on how they did it. I forget the name of it though. A very fun book though.

Casinos will always win if you keep playing long enough.
