My son will be 6 months old on the 6th of December and I am wondering what type of things should he be doing? For example should he be sitting up, crawling, things like that what are the ages and stages for these type of milestones in a infants life?

As long as he is doing NEW things or doing the old things better he is developing fine. It is more about constantly changing than doing things in any particular order.

Every Monday watch your baby and see if there is anything new he is doing, or if he is getting stronger compared to last week, and last month. Most weeks there should be some changes.

Now, I would think he should probably be sitting up, however, you have to provide the opportunity to learn. He will not learn to sit up in a stroller, swing, crib, car seat, bouncy seat, etc. He will learn to sit if you encourage him to sit in your lap. Try helping him balance by having him hold your fingers. If he isn't there yet, you can gently support his chest/belly. Be sure to let him wobble a little though. You can also sit him up on a sofa and see how he does. Keep your hands ready in case he decides to tip.

Also if you have a boppy/nursing pillow you can sit him up in that and sit in front of him, this will give support and padding to the sides and back. This is more useful once they are sorta sitting on their own but learning to lean to pick things up without falling. Put him in the boppy, scatter some toys and stay close to catch any head meets floor falls.

Some babies NEVER crawl. Mine just recently started to crawl but this after he learned to pull himself up on the furniture and walk around. Before that he tended to just roll/wiggle to get where he wanted. My house is pretty small and I kept all his toys pretty close so he didn't really need to crawl. He could push himself up into a crawling position but wouldn't move the right way. Now of course he has discovered that there are things more fun than toys, like the VCR cable coming out of the TV and the sewing machine hidden in the corner so he crawls to get the stuff he shouldn't have.

Remember though it is about growing and changing more than any particular "milestone" at any point. And you need to provide the opportunity to build strength and the little steps to get to the big steps. (Took us a long time to figure out how to show our baby how to get into a sitting position from lying down, babies can't just do a sit-up.)

[Wow! I thought my son was a late crawler but he is only 8 months, and he pulls himself up to standing and walks around the furniture.]

i mandatory to grant my son a good volume of solids exceedingly early...approximately 4 months. He might consistently be constipated and mandatory much less iron. regrettably, there is iron in formula and rice and it had very undesirable element consequences. My son might cry and war to easily have a BM. My son became especially on breast milk yet for the few hours he stayed with the grandparents he had formula. consequently i mandatory to introduce fiber. I agree so which you could attempt to furnish the bottle first and combine with maybe a million/4 of fruit however the sole guy or woman who can somewhat permit you recognize what's mandatory is your pediatrician. Now my son is surely nice and is as healthful as could nicely be. Solids did no longer harm him inspite of the undeniable fact that he did choose formula... attempt to decrease sturdy feedings to 2 times an afternoon with a small bottle (4 oz..maybe) of formula or diluted apple juice/water. do no longer hassle too plenty. call your scientific expert and that i'm particular each and every thing would be nice. Like i've got been advised time and time lower back, teenagers do no longer comprise manuals...all of them improve and improve at their own velocity. wish i've got helped!!!! good success!

At 6 months, his neck and arm muscles are getting stronger and at this point they start rolling as a form of transportation. But, most babies skip the rolling at this age and start sitting and crawling.

He should be smiling, cooing and sitting up. He should also be creeping, not crawling yet. He should reach for a toy when you hand him one, and should be able to turn over from his back to tummy and vice versa. All babies are different and do things at different times. just do not worry and enjoy!
