Lessee... Your alarm clock is probably plugged into an electrical outlet. The voltage from the outlet sends current running through your alarm clock powering it. That's physics. You take a shower in the morning. The pressure that is built up in the pipes sends water up to the shower head. That's physics. The water comes crashing down to the floor of the shower, and you can hear it because the impact generates sound waves. That's physics. As for formulas... If a mechanic is tightening the bolts that hold a wheel onto a car or a bus, he or she applies a force onto a big wrench. If the length of the wrench is 2 feet, and he or she applies 25 pounds of force at the end, then the resulting torque on that bolt is... torque = force x distance torque = 25 lbs x 2 ft torque = 50 ft-lbs Good luck!

Nearly all novel technology (e.g. lasers -> CD, DVD)
Understanding of flow of air gives the possibility to predict the weather.
Understanding forces and stuff enables us to calculate how to make the best transmissions in cars, etc. etc. etc.

Essentially everything that is predicted, or created by men has some sort of link to physics... Since it's about understanding nature and using it to predict what will happen and to predict how you can create new stuff.
