My kid (16) had this essay in Philosophy: Where do we come from, and where are we going? Any answers?

We come from an extremely long line of evolution. In the more current state we come from our mothers. We are going to our own created doom. Humans have become mass consumers and will consume until there is nothing left. We are a virus to the earth in the big picture of things.

Without getting religious where we come from is God and where are we going is back to God. Got religious on ya, hard question.
