For your kids? Do you wait until Christmas Eve? Or put them there as you buy them / as they come in?

For my daughter she knows that most of the gifts come from us... But.. she also gets a load from Santa.

She has her own tree in her bedroom where Santa leaves his gifts and stocking for her...

So I am just talking about the gifts we buy for her and things other family members bring for her... When should we put them under the tree?

we've always done it on Christmas Eve after she goes to sleep... But some people have told me that is crazy...

My reason for asking the question.

When my children were young, they got one gift to open on Christmas Eve from Mom and Dad (it was always new pajamas) and that went under the tree a few weeks ahead of time. But Santa brought everything else (even as they got older and knew) and those were put under on Christmas Eve. Last year was the first time I put their stuff under the tree as I got them and wrapped them because they are now 20, 22 and 24...and they had a fit because it wasn't what I always had done.

We put some gifts under the tree about 2 weeks before Christmas, and most of the gifts for the kids go under the tree Christmas eve night when they are in bed.

This year we plan on putting all the gifts under the tree on Christmas eve night, to give our kids a real taste of Santa.

I put my gifts under the tree as soon as I get them and wrap them up. My mother on the other hand doesn't even put her tree up until Christmas Eve Day, so she doesn't put her gifts under her tree until Christmas Eve. Put the gifts under tree when you want to and don't worry about when others tell you you should.

I usually wrap them all at once after they are all bought then put them under the tree a week or few days before Christmas. Santa brings gifts that are unwrapped during the night before Christmas. If your daughter is old enough to understand, she should be taught to leave the wrapped gifts there until it is time to open them. It is self control that needs to be taught to children when they are old enough. My kids never bothered the gifts, we told them they could open them on Christmas...

When I was little, we always had a whollleeeee lotttt of presents, and the wrapped ones would go under the tree as they came. Santa presents were never wrapped, and everything was set out and plugged in/turned on Christmas Eve and me and my brother always woke up in the middle of the night and ran downstairs to see everything everywhere - it was amazing to see everything set out like it was.

As soon as I finish wrapping them. My son is only 2, so he doesn't quite understand the whole Santa thing. I will wait till Christmas Eve when he is a little older.

For my personal tastes, I think that the tree looks best when all the presents are under it. Thus my family always keeps all teh presents under teh tree, as soon as they are wrapped. The exceptions are the Santa Presents, which magically appear Christmas morning. It helps to build up the anticipation.
