The stick is wide with a small curve inside to slide the ball. It's as long as the player's arm. It's a sport played in a field ans players throw the ball around using this sticks that are attached to their arms, like an extension of the player's arm.

The sport is called "Jai Alai " pronounced like High Lye

I caught a few matchs several years ago while on vacation in Florida. Its quite an interesting game.
