He should go to school, so that he can have the kind of life he wants to have. There will be plenty of time for building relationships afterwards. It would be a complete waste if he stayed in NY for the love interest, and have that not work out. So, I think that he should go. They can try and have a relationship long distance or when he gets back, if they're both still interested.

It ended in divorce after all those years. I think most of it was because I became resentful over the fact that this person didn't care if I was happy! They cared whether or not they were. If some one truly loves you they want to see you happy not just themselves. That is extremely hard to find. If you find that, you have found something special. I still haven't truly found it. I still haven't totally given up. If you give up YOUR dream you are lost forever. A person that truly cares for you wouldn't even ask you to do that. I found that out the hard way.
