I start my computer and it seems to start ok but nothing comes on my screen - i turn it off and try it several more times and eventually it works. I've tried it on another monitor and it does the same, i've tried a different lead and still the same. - some times my time changes incorrectly so i need to change my battery but could the two be connected.

your ideas are appreciated

Looks like your graphics card may be faulty. Borrow a spare from a mate, stick it in and see what happens. The problem with the clock probably isn't related. Sort the graphics problem out first, then maybe change the battery on the notherboard after that.

The whole thing relies upon that battery for it's current set up.
