My best friend is cheating on his wife, I know because he told me. She and I have gotten close and she came to me in tears because she thinks something is going on and I looked her straight in the face and lied now every time I see her I feel guilty, especially when she calls me because she is lonely when he is "working late". I told him to tell her the truth but he said no because it would only hurt her. She is the best thing that has ever happened to him and by the way she just had his baby. Shoud I risk my friendship with him and tell her, he and I have been through alot together, I think he will forgive me, or should I keep my mouth shut? As a woman, I think she has the right to know. He said he will stop as soon as it is out of his system.

you need to tell you best friend (the cheating guy) that you cannot keep quiet because of his wife's suspicions. give him a certain amount of time to either end the cheating or tell his wife what is going on. tell him he has until friday to take care of it or you will.
that way you are giving him a chance to make things right.
you are not avoiding hurting her by not telling her. she is getting hurt already and your not telling will not save her from hurt.
everyone is getting hurt here.
but you have to tell him first and give him the chance to come clean or stop the problem. don't go behind his back and tell her.

He won't stop.. it's like an addiction. Your best bet as to not feeling guilty, is to tell her. It is the right thing to do because in the end the truth is going to come out somehow or another and a lot of the blame is going to put on to you, which will make you feel even guiltier. The best thing to do would be to tell her. She deserves to know even if he is your best friend. Besides, if he really was your best friend, he never would have put you in the situation in the first place.

That's just a horribly awkward situation that you're in. I really don't know what the best thing to do is. If it were me, I would kind of pretend I didn;t know, because he's either going to stop or he's going to get caught. I really don't know if that;s the best thing but I think that's what I'd do.

TOUGH DECISION~ I honestly would have to think long and hard on this. Ya know this is why we have best friends we can confide in. But seriously no woman no man deserves to be lied to and cheated on. But it is not in your best interest to tell HIS business. But take it to him, MAN 2 MAN and say look u tell her or I will. OR STOP CHEATING YOU DAWG! I would follow my heart in this one, your best friend isn't all that great if he is doing this to his wife (whom just had his baby) I would KICK HIS A*S!

Yes. As bad as it is, you should tell her.
explain why you fibbed, as you just couldn't find the right words for such a terrible bit of news, but her piece of mind is more important that a friendship that is now strained, owing to this affair

you should tell her, because if you are lying to her about this, you are just as bad as him. and men always say it will stop when it is out of their system. if his wife ever finds out you lied to her about that, then she will be pretty mad at you too.

Tell her! he's in the wrong. you don't need his friendship if he expects you to lie for him all the time. She deserves to know since she just did have his baby.
