tell him what you feel about him and what ever your heart says that should make him feel loved. but it does not actually makes a diffrence that he is online friend or not.

You are showing that you are a leader/thinker for your age and are thinking above simple daily tasks. You will be able to help your friend when you believe what you are learning from reality. Depression is caused by learning as we are told and not as it is. Expectations for love and sex fall short . The brain hits you back. On line you can easily teach things and if he is not ready it can be put aside. Deal with security first then he will trust you. I saw one case where she gave up her university to go to him in the USA. She was taking on his vibes and becoming neurotic at least. She would stay up all night holding his hand so he wouldn't ask for more meds. She had me translate his bipolar letters into love letters. He did love her but found me out and became very angry. Last I heard he cancelled the marriage
