Sounds like you are looking for a brutally honest answer. Here it is. Yes, if your pity for your child and poor parenting has not produced a spoiled brat that you expect me to tell what a lovely boy he is while he treats everyone like sh*t and never ever tell him he needs to be civil because I'm not his real father.

If the ex - is out of the picture for the most part not a problem. If you are still part of his life in any other way but your child then no man should go there. My experience is an ex- can ruin a guys life, if he has the mind to. And the girl can break your heart. But to clarify I am 41 with an 11 yr old daughter and would love to have some one in my life again.

Decent guys will not care if you if you have a child from a previous marriage. The thing you look for is when you are dating is the response he has when he meets your child for the first time. If he is indifferent, move on as he will have a hard time accepting your child if you become serious.
