Sometimes I've had that problem, but only with more popular movies cuz everyone gets them out to see them. I had that problem when I was watching the 1st season of the 4400. Otherwise, it hasn't gotten that bad. Just clean them well before you stick them into the DVD player, that has helped me in the past.

They're probably smudged and scratched and have crap on them. I get dvd's from the video store that I have to clean. Sometimes they're so scratched they don't even work. One time I had one that had a bunch of dried white stuff on it like somebody **** on it. Gross!

Because since its free from the library, no one respects it and they play "frisbee" with it after they're done watching it. And why not?
It doesn't cost them anything!

Yes, I check them out all the time. Here's a little trick, take a little dab of toothpaste and buff the DVD. It cleans it and buffs out any little scratches.
