Facebook.com is a much profile-based website than MySpace. On Facebook, your info is more personal and real, unlike the profiles on MySpace where people bare skin and blatantly lie to turn the site into a white trash dating service.
The security is much better as you can opt to hide your profile from a lot easier. Mine is only open to people who attended Northern Arizona U with me and works well as a communication tool for old friends. Because it's only NAU people, I can post my email and phone number. Some people only have their profiles available to friends and others can have them open to anyone.
Posting pictures is far better on Facebook. I don't believe there is a limit and you can "tag" your friends in pic, meaning if you don't recognize someone in a picture with your friend, you can click on the tag and see their profile. Plus, there's no mothers posting one pic where they're half naked and another pic where they're showing off their child.
The site is also easier to manage and doesn't allow people to change their profile page into an ugly mismatched website.
Facebook was created on Ivy League college campuses and then expanded to all colleges, then high schools, and now it's open to anyone.

Friendster.com - It's similar to MySpace. Check it out and see for yourself. Maybe you'll find some of your own friends or acquaintances in it.

Try Yahoo! 360, Friendster or Facebook. They're similar, but not the same! Good luck!

orkut is unique, because it's an organically growing network of trusted friends. That way we won't grow too large, too quickly and everyone will have at least one person to vouch for them.
