Kris has written several good songs. He is not prolific and he cannot carry a tune very well. He was married to Rita Coolidge at one time. I think of him more as an actor and less as a singer for the most part. Other people covering his songs make up for his lack of vocals. He is always going to be remembered long after he's gone for his contributions.

I think he's a wonderful songwriter. I prefer to hear some of his songs sung by other artists: (Come Sundown, Nobody Wins, For the Good Times, The Taker), but there are some of his songs that his voice suits perfectly: Darby's Castle, I'd Rather Be Sorry (with Rita Coolidge), Jesus Was a Capricorn, Sugar Man, The Pilgrim, Why Me. I must conclude he's great at both!

NO! Ed Kowalcyk (from LIVE) has my vote for best song writer. Second place -- Michael Stipe (REM) and many others would place over him.

NO...No he's not. He's not the best of anything. I lost all respect for him when at a concert, Sinead O'Connor (3 days removed from tearing up the Popes picture on SNL) was boo-ed off the stage, he embraced her and told her that "Don't let them get to you, Americans are a**holes". He lost all my respect.
